Therapeutic Consultations £70.00

Play therapy is not always required; in some cases, concise guidance and a discussion accompanied by selected book recommendations with an experienced play therapist can effectively address challenging circumstances, enhance self-awareness, and improve patterns of stressful interactions.

Drawing on a play therapist’s training, experience, and knowledge of child development and psychology, we can help parents and carers when challenges arise, and extra guidance is needed to see the wood for the trees.

Throughout the consultation, you will receive guidance on effective strategies for moving forward, recommendations for approaches to try and, when appropriate, signposting to relevant services or resources for additional support. You'll also be introduced to books to share with your child—these can help explore emotions, clarify confusing ideas, or offer fresh meaning, hope, and perspective on ongoing situations.

This is a 1-hour online play and bibliotherapy consultation designed to help parents or carers support children or young people. Consultations can be one-off or part of a series, based on your needs.

Please contact freya@playrefuge.co.uk for more detail.

Bibliotherapy Consultations £65.00

Play Refuge also offers standalone online bibliotherapy consultations for parents, carers, and families. These sessions provide a thoughtful, accessible space to explore how carefully chosen stories, reflective prompts, and play-based understanding can help children and families make sense of feelings, strengthen connection, and support emotional well-being at home.

Using The Book Therapy Method™ to work with parents, carers, and families to explore carefully chosen stories, reflective prompts, and practical integration activities tailored to their child’s needs. These consultations offer a calm, supportive space to think together about feelings, relationships, family connection, and emotional well-being, with gentle guidance that families can carry into everyday life at home.

This is a 1-hour online bibliotherapy consultation designed to help parents or carers support children or young people. Consultations can be one-off or part of a series, based on your needs.
