Play therapy is not always required; in some cases, concise guidance and a discussion accompanied by selected book recommendations with an experienced play therapist can effectively address challenging circumstances, enhance self-awareness, and improve patterns of stressful interactions.
Drawing on a play therapist’s training, experience, and knowledge of child development and psychology, we can help parents and carers when challenges arise, and extra guidance is needed to see the wood for the trees.
Throughout the consultation, you will receive guidance on effective strategies for moving forward, recommendations for approaches to try and, when appropriate, signposting to relevant services or resources for additional support. You'll also be introduced to books to share with your child—these can help explore emotions, clarify confusing ideas, or offer fresh meaning, hope, and perspective on ongoing situations.
This is a 1-hour online play and bibliotherapy consultation designed to help parents or carers support children or young people. Consultations can be one-off or part of a series, based on your needs.
